Every year our small town of Pittsfield celebrates Memorial day. It's the perfect blend of honoring and remembering the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces and of celebrating spring and neighbors. On Monday morning neighbors gather on the Pittsfield Green. The parade consists of a small color guard, a small marching band from a neighboring town, and all the town's kids on decorated bicycles. The route wraps around the Green on Route 100, then the entire group - parade and spectators - follows into the Pittsfield cemetery.
